The Rapture in an Atomic Second
What is an atomic second?
With the development of the atomic clock in the early 1960s, it was decided to use atomic time as the basis of the definition of the second, rather than the revolution of the Earth around the Sun.
Following several years of work, scientists determined the relationship between the hyperfine transition frequency of the caesium atom to be more accurate than the ephemeris second.
“Behold, I tell you a mystery — a hidden truth: We shall not all die, but some of us will be changed and transforrmed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet of God will sound, and the dead in Christ will be raised and receive incurruptible bodies to live forever.” – 1 Corinthians 15:51-52
In this Scripture, the aspostle Paul describes the catching away of believers upon the return of Jesus Christ to the earth. It is commonly known as “The Rapture of the Church”. However, the word Rapture never appears in the Bible. It was derived from the Greek word, Harpadzo, which means “a catching or snatching away.” Regardless of what term you prefer to use, it will be a glorious event that all Christian are looking forward to.
