Doctor Ben Carson disbelieves Bible Accuracy

Creación_de_Adán_(Miguel_Ángel)Although Christians and Jews alike will agree that Almighty God created the heavens and the earth and all things therein, some segments of Christianity are now moving away from the fundamentalist’s view of a 6,000 year-old earth according to the Bible’s historical account.

The traditional Young Earth Creationism view is being re-thought by some Christians in light of modern scientific evidence that the earth is actually 4.5 billion years old. One proponent of the Scientific View verses the Young Earth theorists is presidential candidate, Dr. Ben Carson, a Seventh Day Adventist Christian. In a recent interview, Dr. Carson, admitted that he does not believe in the accuracy of the creation narrative, with regard to the actual age of the earth. He stated in his interview:

Dr_Ben_Carson“I know a lot of people say that I believe the earth is 6,000 years old, and they have no basis for saying that. I don’t know how old the Earth is,” he stated. “[Genesis] says, ‘In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth,’ and then there’s a period there. You don’t know how much time elapsed.”

What do you think?

1. Do you believe the earth is only 6,000 years old – as traditionally taught in most fundamentalist churches?

( )  Yes   ( )  No

2. In light of modern scientific evidence that the earth is billions of years old, should the Genesis creation account be interpreted literally or metaphorically?

( )   Literally   ( ) Metaphorically

3. Do you believe in a literal, 24-hour, six-day creation period by God, according to the Book of Genesis?

( )  Yes   ( )  No

4. If not, is the Genesis creation account to be interpreted metaphorically, that is, that God’s creation of the earth and universe could have actually spanned a period of billions of years?

We sincerely want to know what you believe. Please leave your comments below….

Mary Magdalene: Prostitute or Saint?

Mary Magdalene was one of Jesus’ disciples who had an unsavory reputation. Many Bible scholars believe she had been a prostitute before her conversion. In this article we examine her life in closer detail.

Mary Magdalene, also known as Mary of Magdala, was one of Jesus’ disciples that is frequently mentioned in the gospel accounts. Since she was free to follow Jesus of Nazareth during His many journeys, this suggests that she was an unmarried woman or a widow without any home obligations. She was also a woman of financial substance and was able to support the missionary ministry of Jesus and the apostles.

Some Bible scholars have even suggested that Mary Magdalene was the unnamed sinful woman who anointed Jesus’ feet with an alabaster jar of perfume:

“As she stood behind him at his feet, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them” (Luke 7:38).

The Jewish Talmud affirms that Mary Magdalene had an unsavory reputation. Therefore, we must assume that, in all likelihood, Mary had formerly been a prostitute before she met Jesus and repented of her previous life. She had also been possessed by seven devils before Jesus cast them out. Demon possession is often found in individuals who have practiced a life of sexual immorality since demonic transference generally occurs from one partner to another during sexual intercourse, as well as sexually transmitted diseases.

In my own family, I once had an aunt who had been a prostitute for many years. When we were kids growing up and full of mischief, we used to secretly follow my aunt to work and watch her enter the local whorehouse each day. The obvious “Madam,” who managed the brothel would come to the front door and let her in. My aunt would emerge later in the day after she finished with her male customers. Fortunately, my grandmother never found out what her daughter really did for a living, and we kids never divulged her secret life. Like Mary Magdalene, however, my aunt later met Jesus, repented of her sinful life and was saved. She became a powerful evangelist and led many people to Christ. After years of serving the Lord, she died a new creature in Christ, washed of her sins by the blood of our merciful Savior.

After her conversion, Mary Magdalene also emerged as one of the most faithful and beautiful characters of the Bible. A striking feature about Mary the reformed prostitute is that, whenever she is mentioned in the gospel accounts in connection with other women, she always heads up the list, implying that she occupied a place of prominence in service to Jesus by His female disciples. She stood closed by the cross when Jesus was crucified, and was the first woman to whom Jesus appeared to after His resurrection. It seems that no other woman superceded Mary Magdalene in her utter devotion to the Master (To whom much is forgiven, much is expected...).

Rahab, in the Old Testament, is another example of a prostitute that was gloriously saved and transformed by the mercies of God. Not only did she risk her life to hide the Israelite spies, but she also became the great grandmother of King David. (see my previous message, “Rahab the Prostitute“).

What about you?

Have you ever wondered if God could forgive you? It does not matter what you have done in the past or where you have been, there is no sin too great that God cannot forgive – if you call upon Him in repentance. Jesus paid the penalty for your sins, no matter how bad. Won’t you pray right now and ask Him to forgive you? If you do, you can be washed clean and begin a new life in Christ. You can receive a fresh new start and be transformed into the person God created you to be. Amen.

With God All Things Are Possible

With God All Things Are Possible_jpg

Faith is the necessary link to receiving God’s blessings and miracles.

Jesus taught us that, if we believe, whatever we ask of God the Father in prayer we will receive. Since He created all things and His power is unlimited, is there anything too hard for God to do? If we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, in harmony with His will, God will move heaven and earth to answer our prayers. That’s how much He loves us!

Even if we don’t see our petitions answered right away, we must continue to persevere in faith that God hears our prayers. Continue to trust that God’s delays are not His denials. Sometimes He may delay His answer in fulfillment of His perfect timing for all things. Continue to trust that His wisdom and planning for our lives is infinitely superior to ours, and He is working everything out for our very good.

Stop dwelling on your past

A Christian Life Well Lived_jpg

No matter how old or young you are, stop dwelling on your past; there’s nothing you can do to change what went before. What’s done is done. Trust in Christ to give you hope for a bright future and a fresh new beginning. Commit your life to Him today and receive His love, mercy and forgiveness.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature (has spiritually become a new person). The old things (the old life) have passed away; behold, all things are become new (a new life has begun as a result of spiritual re-birth).” – 2 Corinthians 5:17

My Take on Same-Sex Marriage

love of god love of others”Love is the evidence of our faith, the measure of our obedience to Christ, and the true attitude of our Christian religion.” – Luis Josephus

I normally shy away from getting involved in politics or other divisive and controversial issues. I always try to practice love, non-judgmentalism, and tolerance towards all races and peoples.

So what’s my take on the Supreme Court’s recent ruling legalizing same-sex marriage?

First of all, I believe in obedience to civil authority. If the Supreme Court says it is now legal, then we must honor this decision by our nation’s leaders. As a Christian, I’m embarrassed when religious leaders involve themselves in Gay-bashing or promise to set themselves on fire if same-sex laws are approved. I think they are portraying the wrong image of what Christ taught us by His example. Jesus was a friend of sinners, prostitutes and tax collectors. That doesn’t mean He approved of their actions or lifestyles, but He showed them the true love of God and treated them with the same dignity we should show all people, regardless of their sexual orientation.

Secondly, I have gay family members and friends that I dearly love and value as human beings. Yet, I don’t personally approve of their sexual orientation. You may not see me putting out a rainbow flag in order to promote the gay lifestyle, but you won’t see me expressing hateful, condemning messages towards the gay community either. I believe this is the true Christian way to live.

You’re opinions are welcomed in the comment box below…

Heaven and Hell and Who Goes There

Jesus Christ taught that the majority of people
are headed for an eternal hell:

“You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way.”– Matthew 7:13 (NLT)

Tragically, there are “many” Jesus said, that are on the highway to hell. There is only one way into the Kingdom of God, and that is through Jesus Christ alone. Jesus also declared that unless a person is spiritually born again he cannot enter God’s Kingdom (John 3:3). Even some religious people are following the broad road to destruction because they have been deceived by false teachers and the false gospel of “easy believism.” and cheap grace.

But Jesus Christ and the early Christians preached the true gospel. They followed the narrow road that leads to heaven and eternal life. Although few people ever follow this narrow road, it is readily available to anyone who sincerely commits their life to Christ.

If you would like to be sure you’re following the (narrow) right road to God, order our free booklet, “Heaven and Hell and Who Goes There.” This eye-opening booklet will amaze you! Contrary to what many preachers falsely proclaim – that “getting saved is as easy as ABC”, you’ll discover what Jesus really taught about salvation and the cost of discipleship.

Because of the abundance of false prophets and preachers today, this is a message you won’t hear in most churches. But it’s a truthful message that needs to be heard by all who genuinely want to know the real Jesus of the Bible and enter God’s Kingdom.

So order your free copy of, “Heaven and Hell and Who Goes There.” It’s yours for the asking. Simply click here to request your copy.

COMMENT from Pastor Luis Yosefus: “It is true that “God is love.” But the true God has another side to His character besides “love.” He can also be provoked to wrath and will take vengeance against those who despise His commandments and exhaust His patience. He will in no wise leave the guilty and unrepentant unpunished.”

COMMENT from Pastor Godfrey Isaba: “Dear Pastor Luis, Greetings in Jesus’ name. Thank you for the testimony and the work of God you are commited. I am blessed and lifted up spiritually. We are praying for you and the ministry. You are a blessing to the body of Christ. I appreciate the love of God that is in you. I request for your prayers so that God may continue to save here in Kenya East Africa so that many souls may be reaped into the kingdom of God. I would also like to thank God for the sound biblical doctrine that the Lord  has put in you, servant of God. Today many people have changed the Word of God to suit their own ends. Yours in the Lord, Pastor, Godfrey Isaba.

Who’s responsible for Messiah’s death?

Jesus - The Sacrificial Lamb of God

Jesus – The Sacrificial Lamb of God

I have to admit I get a little bit annoyed when I hear people argue about who is responsible for the death of  Jesus the Messiah. Some blame Pontius Pilate and the Roman government – who executed Him by Crucifixion. Others, blame it on the Jewish religious leaders who accused Jesus (falsely, I may add). People can argue all they wish; the fact remains that if I hadn’t been a sinner, and if you hadn’t been a sinner, nobody could have put the Son of God to death. It was our sins that put the Messiah to death!

Jesus delared that He was laying down His life voluntarily:

The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life–only to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.” – John 10:17-18

The truth of the matter is, neither the Roman government, nor the Jewish religious leaders really had any power to take the Messiah’s life unless He was willing to be put to death. “No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord.”  He allowed them to do it because it was His mission at His first advent to die for our sins. At His second coming in the future, Jesus is going to rule and reign over the entire earth.

The innocent dies for the guilty.

The prophets long ago predicted that the Messiah would be the sin-bearer for His people:

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on Him (Jesus The Messiah) the iniquity of us all.” – Isaiah 53:6

When John the Baptist saw Jesus coming, he declared to all the people, “…Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” – John 1:29

Jesus Christ the Messiah was the Holy Lamb of God who was sacrificed in our place so that we would not have to pay the penalty for our sins. Yahovah God laid the iniquity of us all upon Him. The innocent had to die for the guilty. God loved us so much that He sent His only begotten Son to take our place on the cross. Yahovah God is a God of love and mercy, but He is also a God of justice. He could not allow our sins and iniquities to go unpunished. So He sent Jesus to suffer on our behalf.

“Messiah also once (and for all) suffered for our sins, the just (Jesus) for the unjust (that’s us)…” – 1 Peter 3:18.

He was the fulfillment of the Old Testament Passover Offering.

Many of the Old Testament offerings were simply types and shadows of what the Messiah would ultimately accomplish  on the cross. The innocent Passover Lamb which was sacrificed each year under the Old Testament sacrificial ordinances pointed to the sacrifice Jesus would make with His own body and blood in the New Testament.

Under the Old Covenant, the sinner had to bring a sacrificial animal to take his place. As the sinner put his hand on the animal to be slain he was designating this little animal was to be his substitute. The man was admitting that he deserved to die for his sins, but the little animal was instead taking his penalty. The animal would die a substitutionary death in the place of the offerer, and God’s justice would be satisfied.

That’s what Jesus did for us.

When you receive Jesus as your Saviour, you are admitting to God that you are a sinner, and that you can’t save yourself. You want to turn from your sins, make Jesus Lord of your life, and allow the Holy Spirit to transform you into the righteous man or woman that God created you to be.

Ask God’s forgiveness and receive Jesus as your Savior.

If you’ve never asked Jesus Christ to be your Savior and Lord, won’t you pray and ask Him today?

If you need someone to pray for you, email us your prayer requests: RealJesusMinistries@gmail.com

God’s Way Is Narrow

The Antichrist will unite all world religions into one and cause all who follow him to be condemed forever.

The Antichrist will unite all world religions into one and cause all who follow him to be condemed forever.

– By Pastor Luis Yosefus.

Years ago before I received Jesus as my Savior and Lord I experimented with other religions – Hinduism, Buddhism, New Age, Metaphysics and the like. One of the common threads of these false religions was the teaching that “All paths lead to God. It doesn’t matter what you believe as long as you believe in god.” Not true.

When I became a Christian and began to study the Bible, I realized that I had been deceived for many years by these counterfeit religions that had claimed to show me the way to God. Even today, I often come across Muslims, for instance, who tell me, “You and I worship the same god. Allah is the same god as your Christian God.” I quickly correct them, “No He is not! The God of the Jews and Christians is not the same god you worship. The true God, King of the universe is not Allah, but Yahovah. You are worshipping a false god, I’m sorry to say.” Muslims usually get offended when they hear this, but as they say, the truth always hurts. However I always pray for the deceived to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Jesus is the only way.

Yahovah God sent His only begotten Son into the world to be the only sacrificial Lamb that can take away our sins and reconcile us to the true and living God.

You can follow some other false god if you wish (there is only one true God), and there is only one exclusive way to God – through His Son Jesus Christ, the Messiah.

Jesus declared, “…No man comes to [God] the Father, but by Me.” (John 14:6). Perhaps you may think that is dogmatic, narrow and even politically incorrect. I have to admit that it is; but it’s the truth. Jesus is the only path that will bring you to the true God. Now, you don’t have to follow this path. You’re free to believe anything you want and follow any false religion you like. God won’t stop you; that is where your free will comes in. But if you want to follow the only true way to God, you have to get on the right path or you’ll be lost. That’s just the way it is. Yahovah God has decreed that there is only one right way – through Jesus Christ, the Messiah, His only begotten Son.

We cannot be saved by our own good works either.

Performing good deeds and keeping the laws of God are always important, but they alone cannot save us. They can never produce the absolute perfect righteousness that God requires. Only Jesus was perfect. “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us” -Titus 3:5. It is by “grace through faith in Jesus that we are saved. It is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast” – Ephesians 2:8,9. The minute you and I come to faith in Jesus’ substitionary death on our behalf, the way to God is open. It is the only way we can be saved.

Anyone can come.

Regardless of your race or previous religious beliefs, Jesus invited everyone to come to salvation. He said, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.” – John 7:37. This is an all-inclusive invitation to all human beings. None are excluded except those who exclude themselves. The Lord Jesus gives only one condition, “If anyone thirsts and comes to me.” If you’re thirsting for the truth and the true God, He asks you to simply come to Him. He is the only One that can satisfy you.

Pray this prayer right now with all sincerity….

“Lord Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God, the Messiah. I believe that you sacrificed your life on the cross of Calvary to pay the penalty for my sins. I repent of my sins; please forgive me.
