TODAY’S BIBLE VERSE: “There was a man named Jabez who was more honorable than any of his brothers. His mother named him Jabez* because his birth had been so painful. He was the one who prayed to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and expand my territory! Please be with me in all that I do, and keep me from all trouble and pain!” And God granted him his request.” – 1 Chr. 4:9-10 (NLT)
We are not told why Jabez was more honorable than his brethren; but we can ascertain that he was a praying man, and a man of faith. The way to receive great things from God is to seek to do His will, pray earnestly, and believe Him for the seemingly impossible.
God is ready to give you exceedingly abundantly above all that you ask or think, if you are ready to rise above the unbelief and mediocrity that many people settle for. God will honor your faith and enlarge the borders of your life [spiritually and materially] in every way.
Like Jabez, pray and invite Him to bless you with His great resources and power, as you commit yourself to honoring Him with your life.
* Distress or pain.
