Who’s on the throne?

– TODAY’S BIBLE VERSE: “So let us come boldly and confidently to the throne of God, our compassionate heavenly Father. There we will receive His loving kindness and mercy, and we will find grace to help us in our time of need.” – Hebrews 4:16 (JCV)

www.RealJesus.netNotice that the writer of the Book of Hebrews says when we pray we are approaching a “throne”. Who’s on the throne? A king. Not just any king, but the KING of kings, the LORD of lords, the Supreme Ruler of the universe. The One who has all authority and power.

When we are His children, bought by the blood of the Lamb, He says, “Come boldly and confidently before my throne, without fear or doubt, that you may receive from Me. I have the power and authority to grant whatever you request. There is no prayer too hard for Me to answer, and no problem too difficult for Me to solve.

“Come to Me expecting favor. You are my beloved child and I will move heaven and earth, if necessary, to grant your petition. And prove to you my love and power. In prayer to Me, lift up your eyes in faith, and look towards my glorious throne. Thus says the LORD.”

Confessing Jesus

“Everyone who acknowledges me publicly here on earth, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven.” – Matthew 10:32

Selah: A Hebrew word for “pause, and think about that.”As followers of Jesus the Messiah we should never be fearful of what others may think or say about us. Some may criticize us, others will admire us. Regardless, let us confess him publicly and confidently, that He is our Savior and Lord. Tell someone today that you are proud to be a Christian, so that they too will come to know the Son of God, the Holy One of Israel.

The Day of Atonement

On this Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) let us remember that we believers in Jesus can approach God’s throne (the Holy of Holies) boldly and in confidence, not in fear, because of what Jesus has done for us. He is greater than Moses or Aaron; Jesus is our merciful and faithful High Priest. Receive His forgiveness and grace today.

“So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.” – Hebrews 4:14-16
