The Prayer of the Aged

Grace For TodayIf you’re getting up in your years (like I am), you’ve probably noticed more gray hairs on your head than you used to have, and your physical strength is not what it used to be. Isn’t it good to know that God still loves you just the same in your senior years as when you were young? He has promised that He will never leave us nor forsake us – no matter how old we get.

“Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength fails.” – Psalm 71:9

The apostle Paul also wrote about the advancing effects of age. He said that though our “outward man” (our physical bodies) may perish, our “inward man” (our human spirit) is being renewed day by day (2 Corinthians 4:16). Although our bodies may age and eventually decay, we experience ongoing renewal through the continual impartation of Christ’s life and power within us. His influence regenerates our minds, emotions and wills to be conformed to His likeness.

And when our outward body finally dies, our spirit continues to live forever where we will be brought by the holy angels into God’s heavenly presence (Luke 16:22). What a blessed hope that is for us who believed and trusted in Jesus Christ as our Savior.

“For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands.” – 2 Corinthians 5:1

Man dies in an airplane crash. God’s grace saves him.

An amazing story of redemption.

Former skydiver Mickey Robinson testifies of dying in a plane crash and being transported in spirit into the glorious pure white light presence of God. But at the same time he was confronted by a horrible darkness that meant eternal separation from God – a hell he would not wish on his worst enemies. The choice he made enabled him to return to life, be filled with the Holy Spirit, and testify of God’s mercy and grace through Jesus the Messiah.
