Believe in Yourself – God does!

Daily Inspiration_Logo_sm_300 x 230_jpgDaily Inspiration – A dose of daily inspiration and encouragement from the Word of God.

When I was a young boy, I suffered from low self-esteem. Part of the reason is that I had an abusive and critical father who constantly pointed out all my faults and rarely had anything good to say about me. This did considerable psychological damage. I grew up shy, insecure, and awkward around other people. I felt I was unloved and worthless.

But God, our heavenly Father is not that way at all. I discovered after becoming a Christian, that God loved me and thought the best of me. After all, He created me for a special purpose. And that He wanted to always encourage me to succeed in life, not to fail.

Did you know God feels the same way about you?

He loves you just as much. And He created you with a special purpose too. You are beautiful in His eyes, so don’t let anyone put you down nor make you feel inferior to others. You are worthy of God’s best! He has put you on this earth in order that you will have a fruitful and happy life. He says this about you in Jeremiah 29:11:

“For I know the plans I have for you, ‘declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

In Romans 8:31-32, the Bible also tells us:

“…If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all–how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?”

God Remembers

“And God said, ‘This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.”  – Genesis 9:12-13

Actor Richard Gere goes undercover as homeless man

Richard Gere goes homeless

Actor Richard Gere recently went undercover as a homeless man in New York City (see photo). He learned firsthand how cruel and indifferent people can be towards the less fortunate.

A homeless woman came up to me the other day as I was leaving the local 7-Eleven. She asked me for a dollar to get something to eat. I didn’t give her any money, but I went back in and bought her a complete breakfast. I find this method works best because you’re not giving them money to buy drugs or alcohol. Afterwards, she asked me to pray for her. I did in Jesus’ name.

Let us follow Jesus’ example of compassion and mercy whenever we have opportunity to help someone in need, and use that opportunity to be a witness of God’s love.

Obnoxious Christianity is not True Christianity

Religious Liberty

Obnoxious Christianity is not True Christianity. Will the real followers of Jesus Christ please stand up? Our religion is being hijacked by obnoxious fundamentalists! They do not speak for the true followers of Jesus Christ the Messiah.

Authentic Christians practice the manifestation of God’s love, compassion and tolerance towards all people of differing beliefs, as well as obedience to civil and government authorities.

Better days are ahead.

Rising Sun_jpg For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11

Many of us have gone through traumatic and painful circumstances in life that have left us deeply hurt, used, abused, and rejected. As a result, we have been mentally and emotionally scarred which can keep us feeling unworthy, depressed, and mistrustful of others. We remain apprehensive of the future and doubtful of ever being happy again.

These experiences can also distort our image of God. We may ask ourselves, “How can a good and loving Father allows us to be hurt in this way?”

God’s love and mercy has never failed us.

We need to reaffirm to ourselves that no matter what other people do to us and no matter what trials we may experience, God loves us with an unfailing love. He is fully aware of every hurt we’ve experience and every tear that we’ve shed. In fact, our heavenly Father is already working on our behalf to make things better. He will turn something bad in our lives into something that will actually turn out for our good.

The Scriptures promise us “…God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” – Romans 8:28

We may not always understand why God permits things to happen, but we can trust Him to somehow turn it around for our good.

Righteous Job suffered pain and loss.

The life of Job is a good example of how God is a God of restoration. Job was a man that God had nothing but good things to say about him. He told Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who honors God and shuns evil.” – Job 1:8

Yet despite Job’s goodness, Satan hated him and set out to destroy him, his family, and all he possessed. But through all his loss and pain, Job never lost his faith and commitment to honor God. His own wife even tried to persuade him to “Curse God and die.” Job rebuked her foolishness and bad advice. He also declared his unswerving trust in God, “Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him.” – Job 13:15

After Job went through his time of testing and affliction, God worked all the bad things that happened for his good. When Job proved faithful to trust God in all circumstances, God restored his joy, peace, health, and finances. He even gave him a new wife and more children. In fact, Job lived a good long life and his latter days proved to be better that his former days. The LORD paid him back double for all his previous loss.

God will do the same for you.

Your heavenly Father loves you so much that He will heal every emotional would, help you to love again, and restore everything that Satan has stolen from you. Your latter days will be better than the first, and you will live a long life to enjoy it. You’re going to come out stronger, healthier and happier than you’ve ever been.

So shake off any negative, defeated or bitter mindset. Stop walking around feeling hurt, depressed or thinking about the past. Reaffirm your faith in God’s love and goodness. If you’ve stopped going to church, get into a good church that honors Jesus and preaches an edifying message. Pray and spend time alone with God daily. Do your best to live a good and righteous life of faith that pleases God. Tell others about the changes Jesus has made in your life. If you do these things, God will bless your life in a way you never thought possible.

Pray the following prayer today:

”Dear good and gracious Father, I thank You that You will turn around all these negative experiences for my good. I love You and trust You no matter what. I also thank you that you will pay me back double for my trouble, and better days are ahead for me. I believe it and declare it so, in Jesus’ name, amen.”

God has not given up on you.

Spirit-Lifting Thoughts for Today_150 x 150_jpgWho will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies and has given us right standing with Himself.” – Romans 8:33

In the fallen world we live in, it is easy to be hurt by other people with their critical words and judgmental attitudes.

But our heavenly Father is not like that.

He loves us just as we are, despite our flaws and wrongful actions. He understands us better than we understand ourselves. He knows what we struggle with and He doesn’t condemn us when we fall short of perfection.

All He asks of us is to believe in His love, wisdom and faithfulness, and to surrender our lives to His control. He is our Creator; He made us for a special purpose. Therefore, only He knows best what is right for us. We must trust His judgment implicitly in whatever direction He takes us in life. We must pray that His will be done in whatever decisions we make – even when things don’t always work out the way we planned. Yet despite our disappointment, we know God’s ways are always best.

When we rebel against His will, or make sinful choices, we simply need to confess our sins, claim the provision of forgiveness that Jesus made for us on the cross, and receive His cleansing and restoration once again.

Don’t worry about what others may say or think. What is important is what God thinks about us. He still loves us. He has not  rejected us or condemned us for failing. On the contrary, He still wants the best for us. He is still for us, and not against us. He has justified us in Messiah Jesus and has acquitted us of all guilt.

So, if you’re feeling down today, don’t stay there. Encourage yourself in the Lord. Pick up your spiritual feet and keep walking with God. Keep moving forward in faith and try to do better in the future. Although others may condemn and reject you , God will never leave you nor forsake you.

Keep holding on to Jesus’ hand. Jesus is our best friend. Oh, what a friend we have in Jesus. Amen.

Soaring on the wings of God

Grace For Today“As an eagle stirs up its nest,
Hovers over its young,
Spreading out its wings,
Taking them up,
Carrying them on its wings,
So the LORD [Yahovah] alone led him..”

–         Deuteronomy 32:11-12

The Bible uses the above verses to illustrate how the Lord exercises His loving care over us, His chosen people, like an eagle cares for its young.

When our heavenly Father is teaching us to grow in faith and trust in Him, we are like young eagle chicks (eaglets) just learning how to fly. After the youngsters have grown past the period of nursing and have fully developed their wings, the mother eagle will stir up the nest and nudge them out of their comfort zones. She wants them to learn how to fly on their own and eventually leave the nest.

One at a time, as the young eagles are thrust out and flutter in the air (sometimes from great mountain heights) their wings are not often strong enough to keep them airborne for very long. They frightfully begin to fall until their mother swoops down and rescues them. Ever vigilant and protective of her children, she spreads her wings and catches them at the last moment.

Likewise, our Lord God thrusts us out of our comfort zones as we progress beyond the stage of “baby Christians” and trains us how to fly as mature believers. Over and over again, He teaches us that He is ever-present in our lives and protective of any danger we may encounter. He carries us on His wings to safety anytime we begin to fall until we’re strong enough to soar on our own. His constant vigilance over our lives assures us of His trustworthy love and care.

Thank God today for loving you enough to bring you out of any stagnation in your life that would keep you from soaring upwards on His wings of love and grace – helping you fulfill your utmost potential as a follower of Jesus Christ.

Jesus Shine in Us

Grace For TodayAs we gaze on Your kindly brightness.
So our faces display Your likeness.
Ever changing from glory to glory,
Mirrored here may our lives tell Your story.
Shine on me. Shine on me.

“You are the light of the world…Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” – Matt. 5:14-16

Those that follow Jesus Christ the Messiah should let their lights shine in the spiritual darkness of this world. We must endeavor to let the light of Jesus (living in us) illuminate our steps wherever we go – at home, work, and our culture.

Instead of shunning all those who live in darkness around us, let us bring light and hope to them by presenting the Good News (gospel). Remember that Jesus did not come to condemn the world, but to save it. His primary desire is that none should perish. Therefore, His principle mission for us in this earthly life is that we become messengers of God’s love towards lost humanity so that they will be drawn to salvation.

As we clearly present the gospel by our good works and deeds, people will see the light of God in our lives. The unsaved will be drawn into His kingdom and the heart of our Abba Father will rejoice and be glorified.

The Woman Caught in Adultery

John 8:4-11

John 8:4-11

“When I came to the Lord I was a stripper,” says the woman in the video below. But when she tried to learn more about God and started attending a local church, she was ostracized and condemned. Instead of receiving help, love and acceptance from Christian people, they gave her dirty looks and rejected her.

The religious scribes and Pharisees once brought a woman caught in adultery to Jesus. Apparently, she was having sexual intercourse with a married man, or perhaps she herself was married and cheating on her husband. When the religious people caught her, they immediately brought her to Jesus and asked Him what they should do with her. According to the Old Testament Law, she deserved to be killed by stoning. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not hear their question. When they asked Him again and pressed Him for an answer, Jesus said, “He who is without sin among you, let Him cast the first stone.” (John 8:4-11)

Everyone thought about it, and realized that no one there was without sin. Therefore, they really had no business condemning the woman to death when they themselves were guilty of probably worse sins. So being convicted by their consciences and hypocritical attitudes, they slowly left the scene, one by one. Finally Jesus said to her, “Woman, where are your accusers? Has no one condemned you?” Still feeling ashamed, she said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”

The gospel of grace saves.

In this incident, Jesus was demonstrating the love and grace of God in wanting to save sinners – not condemn them. He also stated elsewhere:

For God did not send His Son [Jesus Christ] into the world to condemn the world – to judge, reject, and pass judgment on; but that sinful, lost people through Him might find salvation and deliverance from sin.” – John 3:17 (JCV)

We Christians need to preach the same gospel that Jesus preached. The Good News gospel of Jesus Christ is, first and foremost, a message of hope; that God is willing to forgive us of our sins. He understands our weaknesses and faults, and wants to give us opportunity and supernatural power to change (grace).

In the above example, Jesus never approves of the woman’s sexual sins, but he doesn’t condemn her either. He told her, “Go and sin no more.” He forgave her and advised her to stop sinning. We Christians need to do likewise. Whether we are witnessing to a woman who makes a living dancing naked in front of men in a bar, or a man with homosexual tendencies, or a drug addict or alcoholic, our first priority is to preach  the love and forgiveness of God who sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for their sins. God might hate the sinful way they’re living, but He still loves the sinner. God’s purpose is always to have compassion on the sinner bound by sin, and is willing to deliver them from their sinful bondages. His message is one of restoration and liberty to live a new life.

For God so loved the world

I believe John 3:16 is the Good News gospel in a nutshell. God loves us sinners so much that He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to pay the penalty for our sins, so that we could be forgiven, healed of our corrupt natures, and restored to fellowship with our Holy God.

For too long, the Christian church has been preaching the message of Jonathan Edwards, “Sinners in the hands of an angry God.” Instead, it should be preaching the true message of Jesus Christ, “Sinners in the arms of a loving, compassionate, and forgiving God.” This message makes the religious hypocrites fighting mad, that’s why they wanted to kill Jesus for preaching that He came to save sinners — not condemn them.

Let us pray and ask God to help us overcome our judgmental attitudes, and from being so critical of others. Let us learn to be more loving and accepting of people who may still be struggling with carnal sins, and be open and willing to forgive and help them. We must remember that, if God is patient and forgiving towards us, shouldn’t we also practice the same?

–         Pastor Luis Yosefus

PRAYER:

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for reminding me that You are, first and foremost, a God of love and compassion. Help me to avoid becoming like the judgmental, self-righteous Pharisees and scribes, and become more like Jesus – in my attitudes and treatment of others. Help me to be compassionate and forgiving, as You are with me. Help me to stop preaching the gospel of condemnation, and instead preach the Good News of Your grace and salvation that Jesus originally proclaimed. Amen.

Salvation Tract – Free Download

Does God love me?

Does He even know I exist?

By Luis Yosefus, Real Jesus Ministries, www.RealJesus.net

The Answer to both questions is: “Absolutely yes!” God loves you so much that He has been trying to get your attention for the longest time so that He can prove His love to you in a personal way. He has been waiting for you to come to Him in faith. As you draw near to God, He will draw near to you, and give you the abundant life of blessing He desires for you to have.

It doesn’t matter what you’ve done in the past or what kind of life you have lived. He loves you no matter what, and He is willing to receive you into His family. Through the sacrifice Jesus Christ made on the cross for you, you can freely receive God’s forgiveness, peace, joy, hope, and restoration.

Won’t you receive God’s grace and forgiveness today? Pray the prayer below out loud and mean it with all your heart:

Dear heavenly Father, I do believe that you love me and desire the best for my life. By faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, I receive your forgiveness and restoration today. I submit my life to You. Help me to become the person you created me. I want to know you better and better each day. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.

If you just prayed that prayer of faith, repentance, and restoration to God, contact us and let us know. We want to rejoice with you. We will also send you, free of charge, some helpful literature to encourage you in your new Christian faith.

In the meantime, begin studying the Bible each day. In doing so you will learn more about God through His written Word. Spend time in prayer communicating with God, and start attending a good Bible-teaching church in your neighborhood.
