The Feast of Tabernacles 2014

Celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot) this year on October 10-15, 2014 wherever you live, or best of all, in Israel.

The Feast of Tabernacles has prophetic significance as it reminds us of the future time when Jesus our Savior, Lord, and Messiah will return and establish His physical kingdom reign over all the earth. The seat of His throne will be in Jerusalem and He will command all people on the earth each year to come to Israel and celebrate the Feast of Sukkot, worship King Jesus and celebrate His goodness and majesty.

“The LORD (Yehovah) will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one Yehovah, and his name the only name…Then the survivors from all the nations that have attacked Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the LORD Almighty, and to celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles.” – Zechariah 14:9-16

During His first coming, Jesus celebrated the Feast of Tabernacles. The Book of John tells us that on the last day of this yearly feast, Jesus stood in the temple courts and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” -John 7:37-38.

A festival of Joy

The Feast of Tabernacles was intended to be a festival of joy celebrating the ingathering of the summer harvest and God’s faithful provision. For the past thirty-five years, thousands of believers in Jesus the Messiah from all over the world have come up to Jerusalem each fall to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles, sponsored by the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem (http://feast.icej.org/about). “They come with much expectancy to take part in a dynamic worship experience, knowing the One we worship will soon be sitting on His throne in this great city. Indeed, celebrating Sukkot now gives us a foretaste of the joy of the age to come.”

Below is a short video tour of Israel and some of the sites you can see while celebrating the Feast of Tabernacles. Please continue to support the nation of Israel, pray for the Jewish people, and the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6).

Pray for Jerusalem

JerusalemMap2“Pray for peace in Jerusalem. May all who love this city prosper.” – Psalm 122:6

Please pray for peace (Hebrew, “Shalom”) which includes prosperity, may prevail in Jerusalem. This is God’s will for all Christians regardless of your denominational background. Jesus Christ the Messiah is coming again very soon and will establish His earthly rule from this holy city.

The Blessings of Abraham

By The International Christian Embassy Jerusalem

The call of Abraham is the story where biblical prophecy starts, not only for the Jewish people, the nation of Israel, but also for us as Christians. It’s the calling of God on a man who would shape human history. Four thousand years later, we can stand in Jerusalem and see the fulfillment of the great blessings promised to Abraham and his true descendants, the children of Israel. And if you have faith in Jesus Christ, you are a son of Abraham and are also blessed.

Comments: As followers of Jesus the Messiah, we need to support Israel and hold them up in prayer. The Jewish people are the true descendants of Abraham through Isaac and Jacob. They have a God-given right to their land. Those who fight against Israel are fighting with God, and bring God’s curse against themselves. Please pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6). BIBLICAL HISTORY – Old Testament Menorah Replica

(Click on the photo above to enlarge)

This beautiful Menorah (lampstand) replica is located in a glass case inside The Temple Institute Museum in Jerusalem, Israel. The menorah was crafted following years of painstaking research by Temple Institute scholars, who combed copious amounts of archaeological evidence, textual sources and more before they arrived at the right design specifications. It was finally forged out of 45 kilograms of 24-karat gold, and weighing in at one half-ton, is valued at some $3 million.

The original Old Testament Menorah was placed on the south wall of The Holy Place, to the right of The Altar, and on the opposite side of The Table. Its seven olive-oil lamps were lit each day at twilight and re-filled with oil each morning (Exodus 30:7-8). Olive oil was used to light the golden lamps. It measures approximately 5 feet / 1½ meters high and 3½ feet / 1 meter across the top.

– Pastor Luis Yosefus

“Make a lampstand of pure gold and hammer it out, base and shaft; its flowerlike cups, buds and blossoms shall be of one piece with it. Six branches are to extend from the sides of the lampstand—three on one side and three on the other.” – Exodus 25:31-32
