Happy Passover 2016

Happy Passover
The belief in one God, justice and fairness, ethics and morality, and salvation through Jesus Christ can be traced to Abraham and his descendants through Isaac.

One man, and one people (the Jewish people), who dared to be different – despite all opposition – came the vision of a better world today. Author Thomas Cahill wrote, “Without the Jews, we would see the world through different eyes, hear with different ears, even feel with different feelings.”

I encourage you to watch this powerful short film that documents the impact the Jews have had on the world today. “The Mystery of the Jews,” challenges our conception of human history and reveals the hand of God almighty on His chosen people.

Passover Blood Moon

Blood Moon_Nasa 1We want to wish everyone a Happy Passover*  from all of us at Real Jesus Ministries.

Yesterday, April 14th at sundown, began the annual Feast of Passover which is celebrated all over the world – both by faithful Jews, and gentile believers in Jesus the Messiah. God ordained this holiday to be observed each year as a reminder of the Jewish people’s deliverance from Egyptian bondage (See Leviticus 23: 4-5). For us believers in Jesus Christ (Messiah), it also commemorates our deliverance from the bondage of sin when we were saved, born again, and washed clean by the blood of Jesus on the cross of Calvary. Our Savior and Lord was the ultimate fulfillment of the Passover Feast, because He was the Holy Lamb of God that was sacrificed for our redemption.

This year’s Passover celebration is unique.

This year’s Passover, we believe, has prophetic significance, since it coincides with an unusual celestial phenomena know as, “The Blood Moon.” Last night we had a Lunar Eclipse between the morning hours of 1:58 and 3:45 am. Here on the East Coast of Florida, USA, we were up during the night making observations, praying, and taking photos. It was truly a spectacular sight, and we marveled at God’s beauty, handiwork, and perfect sovereignty over the universe. Many are also predicting that God has given us a sign that something very important is about to transpire in the nation of Israel and the world.

Is this Passover Blood Moon a sign of a world-shattering events about to happen in Israel? Or, a sign of the end of days? We don’t know for sure. But we do know that God gives us signs and wonders in advance of significant events, to let us know something is about to happen.

“Surely the Lord God will do nothing, before he reveals his secret unto his servants the prophets.” –  Amos 3:7

“And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity…” – Luke 21-25-27

“Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.” – Matthew 24:42

Last night’s Passover Blood Moon is the first of four Blood Moons that will be occurring within six months of each other. The next Blood Moon will occur on October 8, the third again on April 4, 2015, and the final on  September 28, 2015. Although Blood Moons have occurred throughout human history, this tetrad of four Blood Moons in such short intervals of time of from each other is leaving even scientist scratching their heads and wondering, “What’s going on?”

It’s exciting to be alive in these end times.

Two thousand years ago, Jesus predicted these days and said, “And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption is near.” (Luke 21:28  ).

Are you ready to meet Jesus if He returns today? If not, pray and repent of your sins. Ask Him to forgive you and cleans you with His precious blood. Receive Him as the Savior and Lord of your life. Amen.

– Luis Josephus

*Happy Passover greeting in Hebrew is “Chag Pesach Sameach”.

NOTE:  The next Blood Moon this year will also occur on the first day of the biblical Feast of Tabernacles, October 28, 2014. And then again on September 28, 2015. Just a coincidence?

The Empty Garden Tomb In Jerusalem

The photos below are taken at the official site of the Empty Garden Tomb of Jesus in Jerusalem where thousands of tourists and pilgrims visit each year.

Although we cannot be certain that this is the actual site where Jesus the Messiah was buried, people of faith can be certain of the following as recorded in the Holy Scriptures:

  1. Jesus was the Passover Lamb who was slain before the foundation of the world, and who takes away the sin of all who place their trust in Him. Because of His sacrifice on our behalf, we can now, by faith, enter into the forgiveness of our sins and peace with Jehovah God, our heavenly Father.
  1. After being crucified on the cross, Jesus was buried in a tomb. A great rock was rolled over the entrance and guarded by soldiers so that no one could steal His body.
  1. As He had predicted, Jesus rose from the dead on the third day. Angels miraculously appeared and rolled away the massive rock from covering the entrance.
  1. When the disciples of Jesus showed up on the first day of the week (Sunday), they found the tomb empty. Angels appeared to them and reassured them that Jesus had indeed risen from the dead and would soon meet with them in Jerusalem.
  1. Afterward, Jesus appeared to them as the angels had said. He gave His disciples encouragement and instructions and miraculously ascended unto heaven to sit at the right hand of God the Father until He returns again.

–         Luis Josephus

“On Sunday morning, the first day of the week, some of the women went to look at the tomb. They found it empty, with the stone rolled away. The guards had been frightened “and became like dead men.”

Calling some of the disciples, the women returned to the tomb. Mary Magdalene stayed behind when the others went back to their homes. Looking inside the tomb, she: …saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus’ body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot. They asked her, ‘Woman, why are you crying?’

Never expecting to see Jesus again, Mary Magdalene responds:‘They have taken my Lord away…and I don’t know where they have put him.’ At this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realize it was Jesus. Jesus asked her: Why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?

Thinking he was the gardener, she asked Him to tell her where the body was so she could retrieve it. Not until Jesus said, “Mary,” did she realize who He was. Trying to touch Jesus, Mary Magdalene reached out for him. Jesus reproached her: Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet returned to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, I am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.” – JOHN 20:1-17

My 2012 Resurrection Garden

The photo below shows my 2012 Resurrection Garden on display at our church.

My 2012 Resurrection Garden. Worship our risen Savior! Click on photo to enlarge.

I started my Passover worship project with a decorative plastic planter I purchased at the dollar store. I filled it with topsoil, inserted a small clay pot for the empty tomb, molded a mound of soil on the top to create a small hill. I decorated the bottom with rocks from my backyard. The cross I made from branches that had fallen off our big oak tree and tied them together with string. Afterwards, I bought some Bahia Grass seeds at the local feed store, spread them evenly across the surface and watered them generously for several days until the grass grew high enough to complete the project.

This Passover season, I hope this photo inspires you to worship our risen Savior and Lord Jesus Christ the Messiah. Halleluyah! Praise be to our God!

–         Pastor Luis Yosefus

“He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.”

Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. He told them, “This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”

When he had led them out to the vicinity of Bethany, he lifted up his hands and blessed them. While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven. Then they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy. And they stayed continually at the temple, praising God.” – Luke 24:44-53

Plant a Resurrection Garden

Plant a Resurrection Garden for Passover! Using potting soil, a tiny buried flower pot for the tomb, shade grass seed and a cross made from twigs, you can make this memorable holiday project for Passover. Sprinkle grass seed generously on top of dirt; keep moistened using a spray water bottle. Spritz it several times a day. Set it in a warm sunny location. Sprouts in 7-10 days, so plan ahead. The tomb is EMPTY! Jesus Christ the Messiah is Risen! The Holy Lamb of God who was slain for our sins has risen from the grave! Halleluyah!

Jesus answered them, ‘Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.’ The Jews replied, ‘It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?’ But the temple he had spoken of was his body. After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had said. Then they believed the Scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken. Now while he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Feast, many people saw the miraculous signs he was doing and believed in his name.” – John 2:19-23

Celebrating Passover Verses Easter

Jesus the Holy Lamb of God that was sacrificed for us on Passover

Jesus the Holy Lamb of God that was sacrificed for us on Passover

Some of you have asked “Why don’t we celebrate Easter*, attend sunrise services, honor the bunny rabbit or decorate colorful Easter eggs?” The answer is simple: These practices are not to be found in the Bible! Therefore, as faithful Christians we must be careful not to observe traditions that are not Scriptural nor holidays that have pagan origins (such as Easter, Valentine /Cupid Day, Halloween, or Christmas).

However, we do observe the biblical holiday of Passover.

This year on Saturday April 7th, Real Jesus Ministries will be celebrating our annual Passover Feast. If you would like to attend, contact us to make reservations. Our Passover Feast will begin with prayer, a special Passover meal (Seder)  and a solemn communion service at sundown the evening before, followed by a unique worship event the following day.

The LORD gave the Passover Feast to us, His people, (both Jews and Gentiles) to remind us of the great sacrifice that Jesus Christ [the Messiah] made on our behalf as the Holy Lamb of God who was sacrificed for us and took away our sins. The LORD specified that it was to be a perpetual feast to be observed for all generations (Exodus 12:14).

* The name “Easter” is never mentioned in the original New Testament Scriptures. It was mistranslated in the King James (English) Bible in Acts 12:4, but it should have been translated “Pesach”, the Biblical Passover Feast instituted by God. It was during the annual Passover celebration that Jesus was killed at Jerusalem in which Acts 12:4 describes – not the pagan holiday normally associated with the term “Easter”.
