Aim for New Heights

It’s not that I have already attained this ideal or reached this goal or have already become perfect. But I keep pressing on [pursuing it], hoping somehow to grasp it just as I have been embraced by the Messiah Jesus, and made His own.” – Philippians 3:12

Too many believers today have settled for a mediocre form of Christianity – a substandard version of the real thing, if you will. When our attitude becomes, “I’m comfortable where I’m at right now. It is good enough to get me into heaven, therefore, that’s all I’m interested in”, be careful! The apostle Paul warned, “Therefore, whoever thinks he is standing firm should watch out so he doesn’t fall into sin.” – 1 Corinthians 10:12.

There is so much more that God has for us

No matter how many years we’ve walked with Christ, and how much progress we’ve made spiritually, there is always more. For God has purposed for us “superabundantly above all we dare ask or think” (Ephesians 3:20).

Don’t settle for anything less than the best God has for you in your spiritual growth and the things in this life. Keep pressing forward, keep believing for more. Your best days are not behind you – they are ahead of you. Keep achieving new heights in your relationship with Jesus and your understanding of God the Father. Let your daily prayer be, “LORD, help me to always aim at the heights of Christian experience!”

– Luis Yosefus

Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for my salvation and the good work you’re doing in me. Help me to keep pressing forward and fulfilling your perfect will and purpose for my life. Keep me always aiming for new heights in my Christian experience and accomplishments. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.

Naked, Exposed & Vulnerable

“For I am confident of this very fact, that He [God our Father] Who began a good work in you of salvation and transformation, will continue working until the day of Jesus the Messiah – right up to the time of His return, perfecting and bringing you to full completion.” – Philippians 1:6 (JCV)

 TODANaken, Exposed & VulnerableY’S COMMENTARY

Did you know that the lobster sheds his shell 14 times during his first year of life? Every shedding takes about 10 days. Each period between the shedding of his old shell and the growing of the new one, the lobster has no protective armor. He is naked, exposed and vulnerable to his environment, and almost helpless. But after each shedding, the lobster grows about 7 percent.

Sometimes our Christian Life is Like That.

There are times when we get frustrated with the way our lives are going – the irritations, unexpected surprises, detours, dead-ends, or simply the periods of boredom and impatience. We wonder, “Where is God in all this? I feel naked, exposed and vulnerable! Does God really love me? Is He really in control of my life?”

Yes, God is still in control.

There is never a time when your Heavenly Father is not aware of what you’re going through, or fully in control of your circumstances in order to produce growth. It may not seem like you’re growing at all, but you are.

Be assured that, even in the midst of His silent and invisible working, God is active in your life. He is busy molding, shaping, and refining all the time. Let it happen; don’t be in a rush. It is God who works in you to will and to act according to His good purpose. Do everything without complaining or arguing (Phil. 2:13-14).

Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith. Live in obedience to Him, trust God to know what is best for you, and leave the rest up to Him.

 Wait on God.

Wait with God.

Wait for God.

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for my salvation and the good work you’ve started in me. I give You full control of my life because I trust in your wisdom. I know You will always do what’s best for me. Help me be submissive to your will, and to be patient in waiting upon you. In Jesus’ Name I pray, amen.
