The Feast of Tabernacles 2014

Celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot) this year on October 10-15, 2014 wherever you live, or best of all, in Israel.

The Feast of Tabernacles has prophetic significance as it reminds us of the future time when Jesus our Savior, Lord, and Messiah will return and establish His physical kingdom reign over all the earth. The seat of His throne will be in Jerusalem and He will command all people on the earth each year to come to Israel and celebrate the Feast of Sukkot, worship King Jesus and celebrate His goodness and majesty.

“The LORD (Yehovah) will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one Yehovah, and his name the only name…Then the survivors from all the nations that have attacked Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the LORD Almighty, and to celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles.” – Zechariah 14:9-16

During His first coming, Jesus celebrated the Feast of Tabernacles. The Book of John tells us that on the last day of this yearly feast, Jesus stood in the temple courts and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” -John 7:37-38.

A festival of Joy

The Feast of Tabernacles was intended to be a festival of joy celebrating the ingathering of the summer harvest and God’s faithful provision. For the past thirty-five years, thousands of believers in Jesus the Messiah from all over the world have come up to Jerusalem each fall to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles, sponsored by the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem (http://feast.icej.org/about). “They come with much expectancy to take part in a dynamic worship experience, knowing the One we worship will soon be sitting on His throne in this great city. Indeed, celebrating Sukkot now gives us a foretaste of the joy of the age to come.”

Below is a short video tour of Israel and some of the sites you can see while celebrating the Feast of Tabernacles. Please continue to support the nation of Israel, pray for the Jewish people, and the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6).

JerusalemMap2“Pray for peace in Jerusalem. May all who love this city prosper.” – Psalm 122:6

Please pray for peace (Hebrew, “Shalom”) which includes prosperity, may prevail in Jerusalem. This is God’s will for all Christians regardless of your denominational background. Jesus Christ the Messiah is coming again very soon and will establish His earthly rule from this holy city.

New Palestinian – Israeli War Imminent

Binyamin Netanyahu: “There will be no immunity for those firing rockets…”

Please continue to pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6) and the State of Israel as another war seems to be imminent with Palestinian terrorists. Since last week more than 120 lethal rockets have been fired from HAMAS terrorists in Gaza into southern Israel, indiscriminately targeting innocent Israeli citizens who generally have less than a minute to find the nearest bomb shelter (Click here to see video).

Israel has a right to protect itself.

Although we must pray for Israel’s leaders to use caution and strategic restraint in retaliating against these attacks on its citizens, any self-respecting nation would be justified with the use of force. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has previously warned these terrorists that Israel will not give any immunity for those firing upon Israel.

”We will not allow anyone to arm themselves and fire rockets on us, and think they can do this with impunity,” Netanyahu remarked. “They are not going to get away with it. This is our policy.”

In a recent article, The Australian newspaper has come to the defense of Israel, asserting that Israel cannot reasonably be expected to do anything other than protect its citizens against the daily aggression launched from Gaza terrorists under HAMAS control:

”HAMAS has only itself to blame for the latest Israeli military strikes in Gaza and the sooner the international community accepts this – rather than indulging in another round of knee-jerk condemnation of the Jewish state as an aggressor – the sooner an element of reality will return to Middle East peace efforts.”

However, an escalation of this conflict is likely to continue for the present time. We encourage all believers in Jesus Christ [Messiah] to pray for peace to resume in Israel, as well as the salvation and safety of the Jewish people.

When evil men advance against me to devour my flesh, when my enemies and my foes attack me, they will stumble and fall. Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then will I be confident. – Psalm 27:1-3

From Yael Eckstein: “Over 75,000 Israeli reserve soldiers have been called up for duty. I have a friend with a newborn son that kissed her husband goodbye yesterday. Fathers are missing their children’s birth, birthdays, and weddings. Mothers are alone with the kids, trying to explain why daddy’s gone. In response to all of the hardship, war, fear, and sadness, we have nowhere to run. For us – the Jewish people – Israel is home, and it is the only home we have.”

From Adam Gouroutidis: “My beloved Israel, firstborn of my God, look up, you are not alone. Am Yisrael chai! Give glory to your God and He will glorify you again. Your enemies will be humbled again before you and your God, the sons of Hagar will know that you are God’s people and there is no other God than the God of Israel. Rejoice, rejoice in your God my beloved people and know that He alone is God! Amen!”

Prayer Affirmations for Israel

The State of Israel

God always keeps His promises

1. I believe that the Jewish people have a right to live in their land of Israel, and that the modern State of Israel is the fulfillment of this historic right.

2. I maintain that there is no excuse for acts of terrorism against Israel and that Israel has the same right as every other nation to defend her citizens from such violent attacks.

3. I pledge to stand with our brothers and sisters in Israel and to speak out on their behalf whenever and wherever necessary until attacks stop and they are finally living in peace and security with their neighbors.

4. The nation of Israel and the Jewish people need to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ – just as much as any other people group in the world today. There is salvation in no other name but Jesus.  I will continue to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and witness to the Jewish people, that their eyes will be opened and receive Jesus (Yeshua) as their Messiah, Savior and Lord.

Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. “ – Psalm 122:6

God requires all Christians from every nation, every background, to be concerned about the pGod of Compassioneace of one particular city. That city is Jerusalem. Those words of exhortation to prayer are addressed to all people of God who believe the Bible and love the Jewish people who God used to give us Jesus the Messiah and the Holy Scriptures. God adds a beautiful promise: that if we love Jerusalem and pray for her peace, we shall prosper. That word translated “prosper” means not only material prosperity, but it also means to be at ease, to be relaxed, to be free of worry and concern and care. And the secret of that is being united in heart with God’s purpose for the Chosen People.

God’s purpose is peace and blessing and restoration for Jerusalem and for the nation of Israel, and when we unite in prayer with God’s purpose then we enter into His plan of prosperity and peace. We are at rest in a world of turmoil. It’s for our own good that we are concerned for the peace of Jerusalem, because when Jerusalem enjoys peace, all nations will enjoy peace. And until that time no nation can enjoy true and lasting peace.
