The Feast of Tabernacles 2014

Celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot) this year on October 10-15, 2014 wherever you live, or best of all, in Israel.

The Feast of Tabernacles has prophetic significance as it reminds us of the future time when Jesus our Savior, Lord, and Messiah will return and establish His physical kingdom reign over all the earth. The seat of His throne will be in Jerusalem and He will command all people on the earth each year to come to Israel and celebrate the Feast of Sukkot, worship King Jesus and celebrate His goodness and majesty.

“The LORD (Yehovah) will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one Yehovah, and his name the only name…Then the survivors from all the nations that have attacked Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the LORD Almighty, and to celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles.” – Zechariah 14:9-16

During His first coming, Jesus celebrated the Feast of Tabernacles. The Book of John tells us that on the last day of this yearly feast, Jesus stood in the temple courts and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” -John 7:37-38.

A festival of Joy

The Feast of Tabernacles was intended to be a festival of joy celebrating the ingathering of the summer harvest and God’s faithful provision. For the past thirty-five years, thousands of believers in Jesus the Messiah from all over the world have come up to Jerusalem each fall to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles, sponsored by the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem (http://feast.icej.org/about). “They come with much expectancy to take part in a dynamic worship experience, knowing the One we worship will soon be sitting on His throne in this great city. Indeed, celebrating Sukkot now gives us a foretaste of the joy of the age to come.”

Below is a short video tour of Israel and some of the sites you can see while celebrating the Feast of Tabernacles. Please continue to support the nation of Israel, pray for the Jewish people, and the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6).

The Rapture of the Church

Spirit-Lifting Thoughts for Today_150 x 150_jpg“For you know perfectly that the day of the Lord comes as a thief in the night.” “For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. And so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore, comfort one another with these words.” – 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18; 5:2

The events described by the apostle Paul in these verses is the Second Coming of Jesus Christ and the Rapture of the Church.

When Jesus died on the cross, rose again, and ascended into heaven to be with God the Father, He told His disciples that, one day, He would return again. Therefore, we believe His promise and eagerly await His second coming, the rapture of His Bride (the faithful in His church), and the establishment of His millennial kingdom on the earth.

The word RAPTURE comes from the Greek word harpazo, which translates into a “catching away” of believers. The moment Jesus returns everyone will know; every eye will see Him coming in the sky. Some will be glad to see Him, while others will be afraid for their time of judgment has come. His mighty voice will shout from the heavens and the angels will blow their great trumpets.

The dead in Christ will be resurrected from their graves first, and then those of us who are still alive and remain will be instantly be given immortal bodies to fly up to meet the Lord in the air, which is the atmosphere between heaven and earth. Halleluyah!

Because no one knows the day or the hours of Jesus’ return, we need to be ready at all times by watching and living sanctified lives. Those who don’t have a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, or have not prepared their lamps with oil (like the five foolish virgins*) , will be left behind to experience the Great Tribulation, wrath of God He is sending upon the wicked of this earth.

If the Lord Jesus comes back today, will you be ready? If not, repent of your sinful ways and invite Jesus to become your Savior and Lord of your life. Amen.

Prophecy Watch

Prophecy Watch_300 pxMany departing from the Judeo-Christian faith

“But he that endures to the end shall be saved.” – Matthew 24:13

Various recent polls show that America’s religious landscape has rapidly changed in the last five years. More and more Americans have been “turned off” to institutionalized religion. One fifth of the U.S. public and one third of adults under 30 no longer claim a religious affiliation. According to the Pew Forum, “they became unaffiliated, at least in part, because they think of religious people as hypocritical, judgmental or insincere.“

Religious Profiteers

Their issues with institutionalized religion, we have to admit is not unfounded. Religious failure in leaders has shaken the faith of millions for decades. Shocking, well-publicized scandals have weakened the faith of Americans. Leaders who preached against adultery engaged in fornicating affairs. Some who taught against the sin of homosexuality were found to be themselves homosexuals. Priests sexually abused children. Popular televangelists extorted millions of dollars from their faithful. Is it any wonder that most thinking people would say, “Why should I go to church?”

Despite all the criticism and arguments against religious deceit in religion today, Jesus declared that He would establish His church on a sure foundation, and the gates of hell would not be able to prevail against it.

“…I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” – Matthew 16:18.

The true church of Jesus Christ [Messiah] is alive and well and being prepared as a bride without spot or blemish for the second coming of Christ, the Bridegroom. The question we need to ask ourselves is, “Are we part of the true church of Jesus Christ? Or do we attend a church that is part of the apostate brand of Christianity that is so prevalent today? Does the example of our Christian lives draw people to Jesus, or repel them away from God?” Examine yourselves daily, confess your sins quickly to God, allow the Holy Spirit to transform you, and use the Bible to guide you in search for the truth.

Increasing Earthquakes

Hurricane Katrina 2005

After a powerful 7.4 magnitude earthquake hit Guatemala recently, at least 52 people were left dead, and thousands more without power. The Guatemalan president visited the affected area to declare three days of mourning. Sadly, nothing was said about repentance from sin. When tragedy happens in any country, the first thing anyone should do is seek God for forgiveness, since God controls the weather.

Earthquakes and other disasters are increasing in both frequency and severity across the globe. Jesus told his disciples that earthquakes would be one of the signs of the last days.

“Then said he to them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.” – Luke 21:10-11

comment_smComment from Cygnet: “Wise words, Brother! It reminds me of the letter that our Lord directed Apostle John to write in in The Revelation to the church of Laodicea (Revelation 3:13-22). He admonishes the true believer to buy gold tried with fire (purify his or her heart) for the true believer to be clothed with clean white linen. (be clothed with righteousness – Revelation 19:8). In other words, we must line ourselves up with Christ and his provision. We are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them (Ephesians 2:10).”

Happy Feast of Tabernacles 2012

We want to wish everyone a happy Feast of Tabernacles which begins at sundown this Sunday, September 30th and ends at sundown Saturday, October 6th.

Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernacles is celebrated each fall, and commemorates the time that the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness before entering the promises land. Traditionally, individual families build small huts on the streets or on their rooftops (as shown above), and shielded them with palm and willow branches.

The Feast of Tabernacles (Hebrew: Sukkot) is the last of the seven biblical feasts which were commanded by God to be observed each year. It is also known as the feast of ingathering.

Leviticus 23:1-2; 33-36 instructs us to keep the Feast of Tabernacles as a perpetual holiday:

“And Yahovah spoke unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, concerning the feasts of the LORD, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts…The fifteenth day of this seventh month (according to the biblical calendar) shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the LORD…”

Traditionally, the followers of God have built temporary booths outside their homes where they will intermittently pray, worship, and partake of family meals for seven days. Before Christ’s advent, this feast reminded the children of Israel of God’s goodness and provision for them during their 40 years of wandering in the desert after they had escaped their bondage in Egypt. Today, those of us who are followers of Christ the Messiah, it reminds us of our escape from the bondage of sin and our current journey in this world as strangers and pilgrims as we await the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. When Jesus comes again, both Jewish and gentile believers will rejoice when He returns during the Feast of Tabernacles and establishes His earthly eternal reign as the King and Lord of all the world. The tabernacle of God will finally be with men according to Revelation 21:3…

“And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.”

You shall rejoice before the LORD.

According to Leviticus 23:39-40, the Feast of Tabernacles was the final harvest feast of the year and a joyous time of thanksgiving. People rejoiced and carried braided switches made of a willow branch, palm branches, and bits of myrtle, which they waved about as symbols of God’s harvest blessing. When the final harvest of souls occurs just before the return of Christ, we too will enjoy a great time of rejoicing as we behold the second coming of Christ and the establishment of His millennial kingdom.

The Consummation of All Things

heaven“He said to me: “It is finished. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life.” -Revelation 21:6

All Christians should be looking forward to the consummation of all things. That is, when Jesus Christ the Messiah returns again, destroys the wicked kingdoms of this world, His faithful people are gathered in, truth is triumphant, and He sets up His eternal kingdom upon the earth as the King of kings, and Lord of lords. His great work is accomplished, His people enter into their abodes of blessedness, and the arrangement of human affairs is complete.  What a glorious future we have in store for us!

That is what Jesus speaks about in Revelation 21:6, “It is finished. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End.” The attributes implied in this language makes it clear that Jesus is divine. He is saying, “The setting up a kingdom in the lost world began in Me, and it ends in Me. The glorious and triumphant King.”

To Him who is thirsty.

Even now, He is still drawing people to Himself. Are you thirsty for God’s salvation? There is still time to receive it today. He offers it freely (at no cost). All you have to do is receive it by faith in what Jesus has already accomplished for you on the cross. Salvation is compared with a fountain that flows in abundance, where all may freely satisfy their thirst, if they choose to do so.

If you are already a born-again follower of Jesus Christ, rejoice and keep yourself focused on the future consummation of all things. If you have never received Jesus as your Savior and Lord, today is the day of salvation. Pray right now and ask Him to forgive you of your sins, and commit your life to Him as your Savior and Lord.

Those Who Sleep in Jesus

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE VERSE – 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14

“But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus .” – 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14

Todays_Scripture_VerseHave you lost a relative or loved one who was a Christian? Do you still miss them and grieve for them sometimes? Take comfort, for you will see them again. Right now they are “sleeping in Jesus”. But one day soon they will be resurrected from the dead. They will come alive again when Jesus returns and Raptures the Church. The dead in Christ will be resurrected first, and then we who are still alive and remain will be caught up together with the Lord, and we will be reunited with our loved ones. “Therefore”, writes the apostle Paul, “comfort one another with these words.”

Dare To Dream – The Rebuilt Jewish Temple

Watch this amazing video below. Bible prophecy predicts that after this Third Jewish Temple is rebuilt and the sacrificial worship is restored, the Antichrist will appear on the world scene. Christians and Jews need to discern the signs of the times and be prepared spiritually and physically. We are closer to the second coming of Messiah Jesus than we think!
