How far have you come with Jesus?

How far you can go in Christ_jpg

The day you received Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord you began a journey of inner transformation and spiritual evolution. Since that time, how far have you come in your journey?

Are you a better person today than you were 6 months ago? One year ago? Five years ago? You should be able to look back and see some positive changes in your character and manner of living. Has the Spirit of the indwelling Christ made a difference in your life?

Jesus didn’t die just for your sins and save you, but also to transform you into His image.

And we all, with unveiled faces reflecting the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another…“ – 2 Corinthians 3:18

Each new day of your life, pray that you will reflect the glory of the Lord more and more. Listen to His voice as He guides you and corrects anything that needs improving. Don’t ever stop moving forward, no matter what obstacles you may face.

Pray, “I will not quit. I will never give up. I will continue to press-on to victory in Jesus.”

God is closer than you think

A Helping Hand_jpgEven when we are going through trials and tribulations and God seems far away, stand on His promises of love, care and protection. Do not rely on your feelings – but on faith. God will never leave you, nor forsake you. God is in control; He is closer than you think.

This man has done nothing wrong

When Jesus was crucified there were two criminals crucified next to Him. One of them mocked Jesus and said, “If you are the Messiah, save yourself and us.” But the other criminal defended Jesus and said, “We indeed receive our punishment as due reward for our [evil] deeds, but this man has done nothing wrong.” – Luke 23:39-41

Jesus indeed did nothing wrong.

He always obeyed the will of God the Father and fulfilled the just requirements of the Old Testament Law. He lived a sinless life and died on the cross – not for His sins, but for ours. The apostle Peter wrote of the vicarious sacrifice of Jesus:

“who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth…Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree [the cross], that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness…” – 1 Peter 2:22-24

Many times we get confused and wonder about the difficult circumstances that afflict our lives. “Is God mad at me?”, we ask ourselves. “Have I done something wrong?” Many of these questions and doubts are generally unfounded because trials, tribulations, and suffering are a normal part of the Christian life. When they occur, we are to follow Jesus’ example of patience, and respond to these difficulties and persecutions with prayer and blessings. When Jesus was reviled, He did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten or react bitterly, but committed Himself to Him (God the Father) who always judges and responds righteously (1 Peter 2:23).

Remember that your circumstances do not alter God’s love for you, nor His concern for your well being. He continues to love you and watch over you no matter what you may have to undergo. Regardless of what difficulty you’re going through today, commit yourself to God’s care and ultimate deliverance. He will give you the grace and strength to see you through to victory.

Continue to live committed to your faith in Christ and His example of endurance, despite your difficult circumstances. This is the true test of your growth as a Christian and the testimony of a true follower of Jesus Christ.

Naked, Exposed & Vulnerable

 TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

“For I am confident of this very fact, that He [God our Father] Who began a good work in you of salvation and transformation, will continue working until the day of Jesus the Messiah – right up to the time of His return, perfecting and bringing you to full completion.” – Philippians 1:6 (JCV)

 TODANaken, Exposed & VulnerableY’S COMMENTARY

Did you know that the lobster sheds his shell 14 times during his first year of life? Every shedding takes about 10 days. Each period between the shedding of his old shell and the growing of the new one, the lobster has no protective armor. He is naked, exposed and vulnerable to his environment, and almost helpless. But after each shedding, the lobster grows about 7 percent.

Sometimes our Christian Life is Like That.

There are times when we get frustrated with the way our lives are going – the irritations, unexpected surprises, detours, dead-ends, or simply the periods of boredom and impatience. We wonder, “Where is God in all this? I feel naked, exposed and vulnerable! Does God really love me? Is He really in control of my life?”

Yes, God is still in control.

There is never a time when your Heavenly Father is not aware of what you’re going through, or fully in control of your circumstances in order to produce growth. It may not seem like you’re growing at all, but you are.

Be assured that, even in the midst of His silent and invisible working, God is active in your life. He is busy molding, shaping, and refining all the time. Let it happen; don’t be in a rush. It is God who works in you to will and to act according to His good purpose. Do everything without complaining or arguing (Phil. 2:13-14).

Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith. Live in obedience to Him, trust God to know what is best for you, and leave the rest up to Him.

 Wait on God.

Wait with God.

Wait for God.

 ————————————————

 PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for my salvation and the good work you’ve started in me. I give You full control of my life because I trust in your wisdom. I know You will always do what’s best for me. Help me be submissive to your will, and to be patient in waiting upon you. In Jesus’ Name I pray, amen.

The Futility of Fighting Against Israel

God will watch over & protect Israel

God will watch over & protect Israel

I just received news yesterday from the Fellowship of Christians and Jews that there is impending war between the State of Israel and her enemies that will involve much of the Middle East region. “God forbid that Israel should have to go to war,” said Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein. “But if her enemies do strike, Israel will be ready.”

Please continue to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and the shalom of the State of Israel. Her enemies are dedicated to destroying the Jewish State and her people, but God Himself will not allow it. He promised Abraham and his descendents (through Isaac) long ago, “I will bless those who bless you, and curse those who curse you…” (Genesis 12:3).

Israel’s enemies may try to harm the Jewish State, but in the long run they will bring shame and ruin to themselves. Hitler’s post-World War II Germany is a prominent example. The Evil Axis of extremist Muslim nations such as Iran, Syria and others will attempt to “destroy Israel and wipe them off the map”, but they will bring God’s wrath upon themselves in the process.
